Ingredients:
8 tbsp butter
2 very ripe bananas
1/3 cup maple syrup
1 tbsp raw honey
8 tbsp melted butter (from above)
2 eggs
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup brown sugar
1.5 cups all-purpose flour
1.5 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions:
Prep Your Pan and Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prep a 9x5 loaf pan. Butter the sides of the pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal after baking.Melt the Butter
Melt 8 tbsp of butter and set it aside to cool slightly. This adds richness to your banana bread and helps bring out the flavor.Mash the Bananas
Mash together 2 very ripe bananas in a small bowl. The riper the bananas, the sweeter your bread will be—perfect for this recipe!Combine Wet Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1/3 cup of maple syrup, 1 tbsp of raw honey, 8 tbsp of the melted butter, 2 eggs, 1 tbsp of pure vanilla extract, your mashed bananas, and 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Stir until everything is fully combined and smooth.Mix Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour, 1.5 tsp of baking soda, and 3/4 tsp of salt. This will ensure your dry ingredients are evenly distributed before adding them to your wet ingredients.Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Pour the dry mixture into the wet mixture, and mix until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix—this will keep your banana bread light and fluffy!Add Chocolate Chips
Fold in 1/2 cup of dark chocolate chips and swirl them through the batter. These will melt into delicious pockets of gooey chocolate throughout the bread.Bake
Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.Cool and Enjoy
Once your banana bread is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing (if you can wait that long!).
This homemade banana bread is perfect for breakfast, a snack, or even dessert. Enjoy a warm slice with a cup of coffee or milk, and you'll be in banana bread heaven!
